Azafady's Sustainable Livelihoods Department aims to increase food security and household income in order to reduce poverty for marginalised communities in south east Madagascar.
Project Lanirano
Agricultural Training & Enterprise Development
Azafady is working with disadvantaged urban and rural populations to promote livelihood diversification through training in
improved agricultural techniques, vocational courses for women, and small grants to cover the start-up costs of sustainable enterprises.
PACE action sheets are being distributed throughout the region to facilitate knowledge transfer and amplify the impacts of this project.
Project Mampianatra
English Teaching
Azafady is supporting four public (non fee-paying) schools in Fort Dauphin through intensive English language lessons for high school
Baccalaureate students as well as English training sessions and classroom support for middle school teachers. English language lessons
are also being provided to Azafady's local staff to facilitate their professional development. International volunteers can get involved
with Project Mampianatra either through the short-term scheme (for 2-3 weeks) helping
with English language clubs for unemployed adults and primary school children, or as volunteer
English teachers (for at least 6 months) assisting the coordinator in implementing this vital project.
