Azafady is able to provide the infrastructure within which to carry out your research, without the hassle of setting up your own government contracts or trying to obtain permits and visas. We can do it for you. Azafady has a range of base camps in many different eco-systems including littoral forest, dry (spiny) forest, transitional forest, rain forest, montane forest, coastal eco-systems, marine habitat, brackish water habitat and on marine coral. We have close relationships with numerous rural communities as well as in the urban centre of Fort Dauphin. We also have the staff and experience to make your research project work. Whether you are researching in the humanitarian or conservation fields, so long as your research fits within our aims to eradicate poverty, suffering and environmental damage in Madagascar, we would love to hear about your plans.

Long-term Projects or Conservation Research

We are also very happy to discuss longer term projects or research ideas and help you with their design. To start off, please download these project design templates to gain a better idea of what you can expect.

As a project co-ordinator you must be prepared to be actively involved in the fundraising process. You must also be aware that this process can take time. We suggest that you allow a minimum of six months from the completion of your project proposal and application to donors, to your planned departure date. Many donors have turnaround times of well over six months and gaining funding can never be guaranteed however great your project idea. For long-term or high-value projects, we recommend that a site visit out to Madagascar is vital prior to the completion of your proposal. This must be self-funded.
