Over the last 5 years Sophie has worked at a senior level in the UK charity sector and as a consultant for various Africa-based projects. She coordinated the Health and Sanitation project and was involved in the direction of operations for Azafady Madagascar from 1999 to 2003. She has been an Azafady trustee since 2002.
Tony Jones Tony is a retired lawyer who became involved with Azafady through a friend of his son who then worked for Azafady. He became a Trustee in 2005
and undertakes special responsibility for compliance and
risk awareness.
Atul Kumar Atul is a GP in London who became a Trustee in 2000 after independent travel to Madagascar and learning about Azafady’s humanitarian work. He has a special interest in healthcare in the developing world and provides medical advice to the charity which is particularly useful in emergencies.
Barbara Leenen As a freelance specialist in brand development and new media, Barbara has been running her own design agency, Xtrafuel, for 10 years. In her capacity as a Trustee, Barbara has completed all of Azafady's design work, both in print and on the web, since June 2004. |
Andrew Turner is a full time employee of JPMorgan Chase & Co and a qualified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Andrew is currently a Senior Manager and Vice President within the Internal Audit division of JPMorgan Chase and was previously Global Head of IT Audit at Prudential plc. Andrew is also a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS) and spent ten years as a Management Consultant. In his free time, Andrew acts as Chairman of the Azafady Board of Trustees and has been a volunteer and unpaid Director of Azafady for approximately eight years. Utilising his Audit background, Andrew helped introduce a robust set of internal operational and financial controls within Azafady and visited Madagascar in 2007 to review operations and controls with local management. Steve Williams Steve has a masters degree in Rural Resource Management (Overseas) from Bangor University and spent several months developing Azafady's rural sanitation programme in Anosy. He is currently the Development Officer for a British sustainable development charity working in areas such as renewable energy, waste & recycling and finance.
Stuart Wilson Stuart Wilson is an ACA qualified Chartered Accountant. He took part in the Pioneer scheme in Autumn 2003 and has been a trustee since January 2007. His key involvement is in overseeing the financial reporting processes of Azafady and assisting in preparing projected cash flow models.
Oisin Crawley Oisin is an Investment Manager and CFA Charterholder. He joined the Azafady Pioneer scheme in 2005 on a career break and stayed in touch with the organization as a project donor and subsequently trustee, focusing on treasury management. |
