Azafady is supported by numerous grant-giving bodies, including the Big Lottery Fund, Comic Relief, the Nando Peretti Foundation, the Rufford Foundation, AusAID, the Innocent Foundation, Silver Lady Fund, Trade Aid UK and the Conservation, Food & Health Foundation. We're also supported by small businesses and other bodies as well as by individuals through one-off or regular donations, including Standing Orders.
Azafady's work has been recognised and supported through a variety of prestigious awards. The Sting & Trudie Styler Award was presented by HRH Princess Anne in 2001 for Azafady's Sustainable Livelihoods Initiative. Highly Commended in 2005, Azafady won as Best Volunteering Organisation in 2007 in Virgin's Responsible Tourism Awards. We were awarded the Prix Pictet photography commission in 2009, gaining financial support for our conservation work as well as coverage by renowned photo-journalist Ed Kashi. In 2010 Azafady's HIV awareness work won vital support through the Vodafone World of Difference competition.
Any companies or charitable bodies who would be interested in possibilities of how you might get your staff or members in some way involved in supporting Azafady's operations – perhaps through fundraising activities or volunteering – do get in touch. If you'd like to talk with us about our coming to give a presentation of our work, or to discuss how you might be able to help, contact Mal Mitchell, Education & Funding Coordinator, by phone (+44 [0] 20 8960 6629) or email (mal@azafady.org). Mal would be happy to give more information on what our current challenges and funding priorities are, and how we might work together.
